Mark and Anne Spitsbergen have pastored Abiding Place in the San Diego area since its founding in 1985. Their ministry emphasizes fellowship with God, worship in Spirit and truth, and lives transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

That pastoral focus runs through Mark’s books: grace, righteousness, the new creation, holiness, and the life of the Spirit. His work invites readers to examine Scripture closely and consider what it means to live in Christ.

The Translation in the Oldest Tradition is one of his central works. Together with his books and Daily Bread writings, it forms a growing body of teaching for personal reading and study.

Mark and Anne are parents to four children, whose families are also involved in the life of the church.
